WOC Expressive Arts Transition Support Group

Spring WOC (Women of Change) Group

Join other women in creative exploration of coping styles, life/family dynamics, and becoming your best self in a supportive group setting.

We are now accepting registrations for our Women of Change Expressive Arts Groups for ages 18 and above. This group is intended to offer advanced support during transitions (Completion of Drug Court, transition to independent living, etc.) for individuals in recovery. It is based in Expressive Arts processes intended to enhance insight, self-reflection, self-esteem and assertiveness. The Expressive Arts are an incredibly robust intervention for both increasing personal insight, awareness and acceptance, as well as offering additional coping strategies that can be developed to manage strong emotion, vulnerability to triggers and improve interpersonal relationships.  Expressive Arts Groups also provide a community and connection with others who are invested in developing and maintaining positive mental health.

Sessions will take place at NExT Foundation in Millwork Commons. Groups will be facilitated by Jea Theis LCSW LIMHP (REAT in process)

Fee: Due to available funding through our non profit, we are able to offer scholarships for these groups! Insurance (Medicaid and BCBS) can be billed if available to offset costs, and a $10 supplies fee donation per group will be appreciated, but is not mandatory.

Dates: Groups will take place on Wednesdays, weekly from September through November, 5:30-7pm.

Art Supplies and snacks are provided.
