Open Studio: Art as Expression, Freedom & Community Building
Join us monthly for Expressive Arts Workshops as a form of creative healing and connection!
We welcome you to join us in a supportive and creative environment to promote personal and professional growth & self-care. Each month, we will offer a creative process for healing and connection, or alternatively, join us and work on your own self-directed creative process with an inclusive community that values the power of co--creation!
Last Friday of the month from 12:00pm-1:30pm
1111 N 13th Street, Suite 114 Omaha, 68102
Suggested donation of $10
Donations for art supplies & the time of facilitators is welcomed, but our open studios are FREE!
Jump on in and join us! If we have less than 3 people sign up, we will automatically postpone the Open Studio, so please sign up if you're joining!
*Please be sure to un-sign or message us if you need to cancel. We understand things come up, but wish to bring our facilitators up to speed on participant numbers to ensure we offer you a wonderful experience!
*This month, we'll be doing a multimedia process of collage, painting and writing that communicates what you wish to say visually. A visual narrative is every bit as powerful as a spoken one, and often much more colorful.
We'll be using postcard and trading card-sized paper (playing card-sized) to create small visual expressive works. Visual prompt cards, uplifting quote cards, and books of poetry and prose are available for inspiration. Other creative mediums and materials to use at your whim. Make as many of these cards as you wish. Feel free to create from a voice of color, line, and other imagery to speak, clarify, explore and process your inner world in this visual form! Create from a place of openness, creative flow and curiosity.
This group varies month by month, using expressive arts processes that bring artists into new practices that invite play, free expression and approaches that remove barriers to the creative, expressive process.
NO ART BACKGRUND NEEDED! We are process-oriented, not outcome or product-oriented. We are interested in the power of the art process and co creative process, with the way art looks or evolves being unimportant.
